The Jamestown-Verrazzano Bridge is a 21st Century engineering achievement. It is a project that demonstrates the versatility, utility and aesthetic appeal of concrete as a construction material of the future. The concrete bridge and causeway span over 7,300 feet from shore to shore, rising to a height of 135 feet over Narragansett Bay. Numerous concrete mix designs were necessary to suit specific applications throughout the construction process. Modern design and construction have transformed Jamestown island access from a narrow two-lane passage to a four-lane "user friendly" link with the mainland. This completed Jamestown-Verrazzano Bridge will provide a lifetime of service to the community.
