This skating rink is 14,000 sq. ft., or twice the size of the rink in Rockefeller Center in New York. This was an interesting project because the base slab pour was a continuous pump placement consisting of over 800 cubic yards of concrete. As you can see from this photo, Kennedy Plaza was inundated with red concrete trucks. In addition, different concrete mixes were necessary for the slab surface because the skating rink was constructed for year round use. PRM Concrete was proud to be a part of this piece of Providence history.
